He has served as CEO and Board member of two early stage, publicly traded industrial growth companies, Metabolix (NASDAQ: MBLX) and Bioamber (NYSE/TSX:BIOA) which focused on renewable materials and bio-based chemicals.

Rick currently serves on the Board of Directors of Radical Plastics - an innovative company enabling petroleum-based plastics to be biodegradable; is Chairperson for the Advisory Council for Cornell University’s School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering; and serves on the President’s Council for Ceres - the sustainability non-profit.
